Both the date of composition and authorship of this play are uncertain. An edition appeared in 1639 under the title "The Bloody brother, a tragedy by B.J.F." The Stationer's register ascribes it to "J.B." Perhaps written by Fletcher and Jonson, and revised by Massinger. cf.
